Tate Modern tour reflection

As the most eye-catching gallery in the world today, Tate Modern attracts audiences from three different aspects: architecture, collection and display. The gallery, based on the transformation of a power plant, retains its landmark character, evoking memories of old London and constructing a dialogue across time and space, Industry and Humanities.

Its collection is rich and diverse. In addition to the works of 20th-century masters (e.g Picasso), it has also introduced popular artists occupying the art world (e.g David Hockney), and even some research exhibits (e.g Red star over Russian). Tate Modern also made some innovative measures in terms of exhibition layout, such as using the Ground Floor, which used to be an electric turbine, for exhibition. Among them, the exhibition method of CY Twombly's works is strongly represented. The curators use warm and dark lighting to counteract the excessive impact of large brushstrokes on the human eye while displaying sculptures next to large paintings to create an internal connection.
